This half-day seminar will address Emerging Trends in Labor & Employment Law, Relevant Developments stemming from the Latest Supreme Court Decisions, and Preparing Corporate Clients for DHS and ICE Site Visits: Legal Obligations and Practical Defense. Following the program, gather with attendees for appetizers and a cash bar at a nearby venue.Note: Three CLE accreditation hours are anticipated but not pre-approved and are subject to respective state approval. SPACE IS LIMITED SO REGISTER FOR THE PROGRAM TODAY!PROGRAM DETAILSPanel 1 – Emerging Trends in Labor and Employment LawEmerging Trends in Labor and Employment Law will focus on trends observed in labor and employment law on the federal level over the past year under the current administration. A diverse panel consisting of a management side attorney, plaintiff/employee side attorney, and two union representatives will discuss relevant executive orders, executive agency actions, the current state of federal employee rights, and collective bargaining, among other issues. Panel 2 – SCOTUS Labor and Employment Case ReviewJo-Ann Sagar and Michael Steinberg will review recent United States Supreme Court decisions affecting labor and employment practitioners and the ongoing effects these decisions have had on the field. They will also preview the upcoming Supreme Court term and hearings labor and employment practitioners should have on their radar in the coming year.Panel 3 – Preparing Corporate Clients for DHS and ICE Site Visits: Legal Obligations and Practical DefenseThis presentation prepares employment and labor attorneys to represent corporate clients subject to immigration enforcement initiatives, such as surprise ICE raids and advance-scheduled DHS site visits. It covers the legal distinctions between administrative and judicial warrants, Fourth Amendment safeguards, and compliance without waiver or risk exposure. Attendees will receive hands-on guidance on developing corporate response protocols, training in-house staff, documenting enforcement activity, and protecting employee rights with minimal interruption of business. Key areas of discussion include policies for consent and access, documentation policy, and notice to HR/legal staff regarding enforcement boundaries under current federal procedures. A panel discussion to follow with corporate attorneys and immigration attorneys, to discuss employee rights and how corporations can mitigate the their legal risk on an ICE raid.
